Celestia shuddered at the misshapen monsters that stood before her. In an act of desperation she nuzzled against Discord for comfort, hoping that he would feel a little more mature what with them being their kind after all. It didn't calm her nerves though when she saw he was just as terrorfied as she was. "Well, well, well...look what we have here. The little sun spirit if I believe and her ugly pet," the lion-headed draconequus taunted in a deep voice.
"Oh don't be so rude," said the giraffe looking one, "he looks like me when I was a calf. So little one just what were your parents? No wait let me guess, a goat? Oh or maybe a deer!"
"A sick deer. I've never seen an uglier mug in my life," said the other."
Secretly angered that these older draconequus were picking on her friend, Celestia nudged Discord to stand up for himself. He saw the fear in her eyes and suddenly regained his self-confidence. "I am a pony, unfortunately. I am Discord! Master of chaos and all things-"
The draconequus all burst out laughing at him. Discord's ears again flew to the ground and he became silent. "What a card. A pony? Oh that really is sad. Most of us here look a little misshapen in the face but good lord your mother must've kicked you as a newborn."
"My mother would do no such thing!" Discord said shocking Celestia with the mention of his parents. It did make her wonder, if he was the same species as all these creatures, why didn't he look like them? Why did they look like other animals?
"And you call yourself Discord? Ha! Alright I'm Fear, and this over here is War. And my friend next to me is named Pain."
"Well...of course I'm Discord!" Discord said. "My mother never gave me a name so I just went with what I'm best at."
"That's just it," the deep-voiced draconequus said, "Draconequus don't have names you foolish calf. We are what we are. And what we are are monsters made to terrorize. If you give yourself a name you clearly don't know what you are, there for you are nothing. Besides, your mother never gave you one so just stick to what she says."
"I'm sure your mother gave you one!"
"No, why would she? You my child have no idea what you are and how insignificant you are in comparison to the rest of us. Your mother no doubt abandoned you as a newborn in some cave no doubt!"
As the other draconequus burst out laughing Celestia watched Discord slowly back away. Tears began to fill his eye socket and fell up onto the ceiling above them.
"Oh look at that, you made him cry," one said. "Great job!"
"I hate seeing you be so mean to another calf," a female with a camel head said. "Why he's adorable to me. I could eat him right up."
Discord and Celestia recognized the figure of speeches second connotation and feel silent. The draconequus drew close and began to salivate black ooze from their mouths. Celestia's mind raced with something to do. "Wait! You wouldn't eat your own kind would you?"
"Why? He has the head of a pony from what we can tell. And ponies make the most delicious kabobs!!!"
Celestia grabbed onto Discord tightly. "W-w-what do we do?"
"Beam out!" With a flash of their magic they beamed to the other side of the mountain. Just as they stopped to take a sigh of relief a big paw picked both of them up by the collar. "You honestly thought that'd work with us?"
