...by that I mean that the Trotter home is technically not even the Trotter home, it's just a home of five very famous, very lonely giant bugs.
So yeah, time to explain. I've done sad comics before but never a tragic JatGP one. Aside from the backstory to Spider in "Set Sail" I give that universe a genuine positive outlook. And to me this is strangely somber. Each of the insects really care for James like a son, so when he grows up to become a writer and presue his own dreams, they have to face the loneliness that all parents go through when they have to part with their kids. The lyrics of the song "Family" are obvious. "Without you there'd be no us" 1) James basiclly keeps them alive. In the words of Earthworm, "We'd be dead". 2) Without James leading their party they wouldn't have been able to work together, get along, and become a family. I don't think that once he leaves the bugs would leave eachother but I'm more then certain that after all they've been through it's pretty tough to leave him. There are a few things to note about this one. For one I thought that getting rid of the dialogue was a better idea then keeping it in. Second you might be wondering why the Glowworm isn't here. Well....she was the oldest bug there and this is certainly some time from the movie. So...yeah, come up with your own conclusions. I am an awful person.
Crying on the inside and outside because of the last panel, and because of Glowworm. If so much time has passed then that makes Grasshopper the oldest one of the group. DX
Honestly, this is beautiful. All parents have to watch their kids leave home and although said child is making his or her place in the world, their families are always sad to see them go. Excellent job.
This is very good, and seeing everyone's faces at the end makes it quite sad. However, I like to think that the bugs stay with eachother, and that James visits every now and then.
